Meet the Founders

Meet Paul & Sue Gardner, founders of HDPP. Paul is a well known face around the town having appeared in local pantomime for over 20 years, running his own mobile disco in the 70's and was actively involved with bringing the Hinckley area its very first FM radio Station, Fosseway Radio. Paul also co-founded Castle Mead Hospital Radio back in 1990.

Paul has always had a big interest in local heritage. He always like to tell people he is not an historian, but a very keen amateur in local heritage and stories.

Sue is the quieter of the duo, keeping the behind the scenes working. Keeping an eye on diary dates and keeping the accounts up to date.

Paul & Sue have been married over forty years and HDPP is something they share together and between them make an impressive team.

Paul also stresses that the help from ordinary members is also important, from the groups fundraising activities, to standing in Castle Street on heritage days. Everyone can play a part.
